Vedanta Vocational Training Program
Vedanta Foundation, under its Vocational Training Program is running a Vocational Training Institute at Ulhasnagar (Thane Dist.) imparting short-term and long-term courses in the sectors such as Information Technology, Automobile, Electrical, Apparel, Beauty and Wellness etc. The courses are selected according to the requirements of the industry and local job market.
We have built our development programs in the form of initiatives with a broad focus mainly on Education, Nutrition and Livelihood. We have further identified the potential areas within each of our broad development priorities and have dawned on focused interventions in concern areas such as basic education among the school children, child nutrition, essential vocational training such as computer literacy, women empowerment and most critical among all being employment to jobless youth.
Vedanta Foundation has association with TATA MOTORS LTD., Fr. AGNEL POLYTECHNIC and APARAL TRAINING AND DESIGN CENTER (Autonomous Division of Ministry of Textile) for Technical and Knowledge support for its Vocational Programs. We have initiated Motor Driving Program at Ringas (Rajasthan), Patna, Goa and Jalana. Vedanta foundation would obtain referrals from the local self government bodies such as Municipal Corporation etc. for the candidates and verify their social and financial status at its end. The candidates would then be selected and recommended for the course suitable for them. The list of such select candidates would be sent to donor agency for consideration. The dropout proportion is assumed up to 20% due to unforeseen circumstances on the part of students.
